Dip. Gestalt Psychotherapy & Counselling.

I am a professionally qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist having completed a five year training programme from the Irish Gestalt Centre. (IGC). Year one was a mandatory year devoted in its entirety to personal development and a requisite to begin the training.

I am an accredited member of the Irish Association of Integrative and Humanistic Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and I adhere to their code of ethics in my practice.

I provide a private, confidential counselling service to individuals, couples and people who are experiencing difficulties. I provide a safe, supportive, non-judgemental environment.

I have worked in the therapeutic field for over 15 years, exploring and working through the lens of a holistic approach. I am passionate about the energetics of a body/mind/environment system.

I also hold a certificate in ASIST ( Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).

The focus of my work with clients is to increase awareness and through this enable the person recognise their choices in given situations. I have a great passion for personal development and believe we never stop learning and being curious about ourselves and the world.

I work privately from Boolavogue, Enniscorthy. I also work with Family Life Services in Wexford.

I work within a holistic framework. All aspects of the human condition are engaged with therapeutically and thus the nature of the presenting concern by the client can be wide and varied. While my approach is predominantly Gestalt, my work incorporates many other modalities including Person centered, existential, Psychodynamic psychotherapy along with inner child work. I place enormous value on the Therapeutic Relationship that is the relationship that is co-created between the client and the therapist.

Gestalt is a German word for whole. An integrated healthy person is aware of all the elements that unite to make him/her whole –physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Gestalt aims to find wholeness and integration through awareness in the here and now. It focuses in the present on how unhealthy patterns of behavior in an individual block the achievement of this wholeness and integration. It explores ways of dealing with the blockages and thus releasing trapped energy which is both liberating and life changing.
